Where Beauty Meets Being Loved

An interior shaped by African artistry, retro-futurism, and the warmth of belonging.

Inspired by the Yoruba word Femi, meaning “love me” or “be loved,” the interior concept for Femi is an exploration of warmth, expression, and contemporary African identity.

The design brings together the rich visual language of African art with the playful optimism of retro futurism, creating a space that feels both familiar and forward-looking. Soft, rounded architectural forms — from sculptural columns to curved ceilings and arched openings — create a sense of fluidity and intimacy, while a carefully considered colour palette and tactile carpet add warmth and character.

High-gloss furniture introduces a subtle futuristic edge, reflecting light and creating contrast against the softer architectural elements. Together with sculptural lighting, curated art pieces, and carefully framed details, the space balances boldness with comfort.

Rather than simply referencing African culture, the design seeks to create an atmosphere around the idea of love, connection, and belonging — a place where people feel welcomed, relaxed, and inspired to stay.

Femi is more than a name. It is a feeling — a space designed to be loved.
